Fort Family: Jehan LLC
/You’ve heard about the changes happening to 2050 South High. Through it all, Jehan Daughtery has been there. We visited her photography studio to hear how Jehan LLC started, and say thank you for putting up with all the construction noise!
Hi, Jehan! What inspired you to open your own business?
I was inspired to open my business after working in corporate for years and realizing how unhappy I was. I wasn’t passionate about the work I was doing and had been at a job for almost 10 years where the management didn’t care about its employees. I wanted to do something I could feel good about and that I loved doing on a daily basis.
Who are your clients?
My clients are mostly professionals looking for headshots, branding images or event coverage. These professionals usually have families, so I get a lot of family photo shoots and senior photo work as well.
If you could photograph ANYONE who would it be—and why?
I would love to photograph Beyoncé. She has such an iconic, glamorous style—I would have an abundance of inspiration to create with.
What drew you to The Fort?
I love the size and history of the building. As an artist I’m drawn to places that have character. I also love community. Having community in a work space is like having co workers except everyone is doing something unique. I love being able to peek in windows and knock on doors to meet my Fort neighbors and see what they do.
How can folks find you?
I can be found at jehanllc.com.
